ACE

Just one year old, Ace came to us, along with his housemate, Gracie, from the chaotic, multi-child home of a newly expectant Mom. There had been some random breeding, and Ace was the product of that accidental coupling. Of the 4 dogs in the home, Ace and Gracie were surrendered to us so that we could find them a calm environment with folks who have the time to focus on their care.

Ace and Gracie seemed bonded at first, but have adapted beautifully to foster care, and we have begun to socialize them separately, so that they could go to separate homes, if need be. It seems that their training had been overlooked in their former home. Certainly, they were loved, but structure and leadership were missing, and that can be a recipe for canine disaster! They came to us nervous and fearful, with an insecure Ace putting on his big boy face, to be Gracie's pack leader.

Our mission was to socialize these beauties, and build their confidence with solid obedience work and exercise. Both have made remarkable progress, and will continue to thrive in the patient care of seasoned Min Pin enthusiasts, whose lifestyle allows for enough exercise and obedience work.

Ace is a high energy athelete, who has been sadly underexercised. He loves the outdoors and can run and play for hours on end. Ace would be a natural in Pee Wee agility competition, and we have found that exercise and obedience training are the key to a happy Ace.

Ace grew up with small children, and he seems to thrive on the action, but we think that toddlers might overwhelm him. Ace is a sturdy boy, at 12 pounds, and he would do fine in an active Min Pin home with older kids, as long as everyone is on the same page about meeting his exercise and discipline needs. He could also join the active lifestyle of an single or couple with small dog experience. Ace enjoys other dogs, and would do well in a multi-dog or feline home.

Ace still has quite the puppy vibe, at the age of one, so adopters must be prepared to take on puppy hijinks. He has pretty good house manners for a spirited youngster, and is nicely house trained and crate trained, although adopters should expect a few accidents as Ace transitions to a new routine.

Ace is in excellent health, and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed.
