If you are interested in adopting one of our Eskies Online American Eskimo Dogs, the first step to to obtain an adoption application, fill it out and return it for evaluation.
You may email Eskies Online or phone 617-216-9483 and we will send you an application via email attachment or by regular mail.
If you send an email, please specify how you want the application sent, and, if you want it mailed, include your address.
When we receive your completed application we will check your references, including your veterinarian, and then call you to discuss your situation and requirements.. If you are approved for adoption, we can then discuss with you which of the dogs might fit best into your life. We will either arrange for you to visit the dog in its foster home, by appointment, or transport the dog to your home. In the meantime, please look at the stories and pictures of dogs currently available. You should also check out the profiles of some of our previously adopted dogs to see how they have done in their new homes. We have also put together a list of Frequently Asked Questions concerning adoption and which dog is right for each adoptor.
To help cover the veterinary expenses of our foster Eskies and to support our rescue effort, Eskies Online will charge you an adoption fee. The fee is $250.00. We do not sell dogs. We charge a flat fee--whether the Eskie is a puppy or an older dog; whether it came to us with minimal veterinary needs or requiring major medical care; whether the Eskie makes a short or a long stay in our foster system.
All Eskies adopted through Eskies Online will be spayed or neutered. All Eskies will be up to date on basic vaccinations, including rabies inoculation. We will provide written confirmation of these veterinary procedures.
To qualify for adoption, you must meet these minimum criteria: 1. You must live within our driving territory which includes the following East Coast States: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Eastern PA, Delaware, Maryland and Northern Virginia. If you live elsewhere, contact the national eskie rescue groups: www.Heartbandits.com and www.eskierescurers.org. 2. If you have children, they must be a mature 5 years...or older -- please, absolutely no infants or toddlers. 3. You must have previous dog experience. First time dog owners will be considered if there is some significant animal experience, i.e., cats, horses, barnyard animals...fish and birds don't count!!
