ALVINOur pretty boy, Alvin, has lost his home at the age of just four years. His lackluster owners dropped him off, with no explanation, at a crowded big city, high kill, Animal Control facility. Alvin was in stun mode when he arrived at the shelter, and he quickly morphed into fear mode as the reality of his situation sunk in. |
Alvin recognized a lucky break when he finally got one and began to brighten up as soon as he left the shelter. In no time he befriended, and charmed, his foster folks. Alvin is a striking boy, with a rich black and brown coat. He appears to be a Chocolate Beagle, in body shape and stance, but it has been suggested that he might have a dose of Miniature Pinscher in him to account for the black and tan markings. Al just may be that coveted hybrid, a MEAGLE. Yes, they are a real thing, we looked it up. |

Al is a small dog, weighing just 20 pounds, and his personality seems to suggest scent hound tendencies. Al loves his walks, and will readily adjust to his handler's pace. He seems to prefer the leisurely stroll, during which he can savor the scents of nature, but he can also pick up the pace for a brisk power walk or jog. He loves the outdoors. |
| Al is a versatile companion dog, who has lived with older kids and cats. He is a sensitive boy, who does well in a calm, laid back atmosphere, and would be the ideal addition to a calm, adult home, with cats, and maybe one other calm, well mannered dog. Hectic family life with young toddlers is not Al's cup of tea. He would rather cuddle in his loved one's lap, and enjoy a relaxing evening stroll, than chase a frisbe or ball. |  |

Al has great house manners, and is housetrained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that may occur during his transition to a new routine. He is a pretty quiet little guy and seems to be the kind of dog that could be alone for an eight hour work day either in a house or apartment. |
| Al is in great health and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies and DA2PP (distemper, adrenovirus, parvo and parainfluenza), and Canine Influenza. He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed.
