BABULovely Babu just joined our foster program from a large, bustling animal control facility. Despite a great behavior evaluation and rating, Babu didn't make it to the shelter adoption program because he caught the dreaded kennel cough. Now, after a round of antibiotics and some TLC, Babu is ready to meet his new family. Our best guess is that Babu is a Beagle, with a dose of either Harrier or Foxhound. He has a smooth tri-color coat, and a leggy stance that suggests a the DNA of a taller dog. Babu has the characteristic scent hound personality with the nose that never quits, as well as the stubborn determination to follow that scent! |
| One and a half years old, Babu is a young adult dog, well beyond the puppy mayhem years. She has good housemanners, and has not demonstrated any destructive behavior. She is housetrained and crate trained, although she is recently spayed and adopters should expect an accident or two during Babu's transition to a new home. |  |

Babu is a moderately active dog who loves the outdoors. She requires a couple of leisurely leash walks each day to challenge nose, mind and body. Babu needs basic obedience and leadership training, and adopters might do well with a Halti Lead to gently redirect Babu's scent based focus. Babu could easily join a the multi-dog home of an active single, couple or family with older kids. She is a friendly girl who loves affection and attention, and is willing to spread the love around, leaving no one ignored. |
| Babu is in excellent health, and has been neutered. She is vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper and bordatella, and is microchipped and de-wormed. She has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
