BABY

Ironically, our five year old black beauty, Baby, is a "Mom" a few times over. This unique, all black, Miniature Pinscher, was the Grand Dame of a Brooklyn Housing Project breeding operation. Baby, and her two Min Pin gal pals, Sierra and Princess, were surrendered by their owner, once the Housing Authority caught wind of the "action" and forced their eviction.

Baby's owner dumped the three girls in a crowded Animal Shelter, and we were asked to take them into foster care. Now that Baby has had a chance to settle in, she is coming out of her shell and becoming a great companion dog. She is adjusting well to other dogs, and is very pack oriented, so she would be a good addition to a multi-dog home. Baby is shy at first, but will surely warm quickly to the patient, savvy Min Pin person, who is willing to allow her time to adjust to her new surroundings. We'd like to steer clear of kids in Baby's new home, as she is better suited to a quiet, calm environment where she can lap up her fair share of the attention.

Baby has good house manners, but is suspicious of strangers, so adopters will need to see this as an opportunity to help her become better socialized and teach her how to accept strangers in a calm manner. She is house trained and crate trained, and is great on leash walks. She enjoys car travel and is a splendid traveling companion.

Baby has not had the benefit of any obedience work, but she is willing to please and easy to train. We recommend a combination of leadership and positive reinforcement training to round out Baby's transition from breeding bitch to treasured companion.

Five years old and 13 pounds, Baby is in excellent health and is now spayed. She has been vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, bordatella, and has been dewormed and microchipped. Also, she has tested negative for heartworm/lyme/earlichia/anaplasmosis, and is on appropriate prevention.
