BAILEY

What a sorry state of affairs! Bailey found himself in a helluva jackpot, as he was scooped up as a stray and dropped of in an overcrowded animal control facility. He is going to join our Eskie Rescue within the next few days.

Bailey is in pretty rough shape and needs some TLC, beginning with a proper grooming and vet exam. Our immediate plan of attack includes a senior blood panel and a dental workup including extractions. Shelter vet reports that Bailey as some nerve root exposure and is in some measure of dental distress.

Our Bailey is a real trooper! He has has a tough time these past few weeks at our vet! The first order of business was a full exam and senior blood panel so that we could be sure he was in good health and able to be anesthesized so that we could begin an archaelogical dig in poor Bailey's mouth. He had one of the most severe dental infections that our vet has ever seen.

Our vet needed to extract several infected teeth, including all his canines, as well as a small piece of jawbone. While he was under, we had him neutered, and also had a fatty mass removed from his thigh. The biopsy on that mass was normal. Bailey has recovered beautifully and is back in action full throttle. He is enjoying life to the max in his new foster home and has written rave reviews of his new soft Grammy's Pot Pie cuisine. Bailey will need to continue on a soft diet in his new home.

Bailey has been through alot in his life. His recent medical difficulties are the culmination of years of neglect. He has been examined head to toe and declared "in excellent health" with lotsa miles left on him! Bailey would love to spend his golden years in the company of some gentle human soul, who understands that the quality of time spent trumps the quantity.

We are grateful for the Facebook pledges which will be directly applied to Bailey's vet needs. Donations are accepted through our Rescue Paypal account:

Bailey has had a full blood panel completed, in which all his levels were normal. He has been vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, bordatella, and is microchipped and de-wormed. He has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. If you are interested in adopting Bailey, please email the above address or call 720-903-0626.
