BARRON

(new pictures!)

Our Barron is a lucky dog! At the age of one and a half, he was unceremoniously dumped behind the Sakonnet, Rhode Island police station. Fortunately, this tiny Rhode Island town has an animal shelter that is connected to a veterinary hospital, so Barron received appropriate medical care until we could respond.

This robust boy is in perfect health, although there is some evidence of a leg fracture that has healed without any long term ill effects. He is perky and energetic, as any Eskie pup should be, and is over due for a loving home with savvy dog owners. Barron is a typical high energy pup, and has not had the benefit of much care, let alone obedience work. Potential adopters should be ready and willing to pursue basic obedience work, and be capable of providing the necessary exercise and discipline that a young dog needs.

Barron is a beautiful, miniatureEskie, weighing about 18 pounds. He could stand to beef up a bit and shows some signs of nutritional neglect. Adopters will need to be willing to pay attention to Barron's diet and exercise, in order to maintain his good health.

He has been a dream in the shelter and has charmed all of his handlers. He has done well with other dogs, and cats, and enjoys rambunctious puppy play. Barron is housetrained and crate trained, and we are making steady progress with leash work. He is neutered, up to date on routine shots, and heartworm negative.

Update!

Barron joined his new foster home today, and made a big hit.  He has delightful doggie social skills, and immediately, all of the grumpy residents wanted to play with him.  Barron is an absolute delight -- he is friendly and energetic and is an excellent car passenger.
