BENNY

We'd say that our Benny is full throttle Eskie! This picture perfect, beautiful boy will thrill seasoned Eskie lovers, who appreciate the personality and spirit of this high energy breed. Three years old, Benny came to us from a busy family, whose hectic schedule left little time for the rigors of raising a puppy. After we had Benny in our home, we realize that his former family missed all of the important Social Development periods and Benny was allowed to run amok.

We were pleased to see that once Benny received a good amount of exercise and basic obedience training, his behavior improved significantly. We'd say that Benny is a "social climber" in that he needs consistent leadership and discipline from all family members, otherwise he might wedge himself between Hubby and Wife, or siblings, and register some rather unwanted opinions.

We think that a personality and energy match is the key to Benny's happily ever after. This former spoiled brat needs a firm Alpha Pack Leader, who is willing to establish house rules and provide the necessary discipline and exercise that Benny needs to maintain his good behavior. He has been through basic obedience training and knows all his commands. He enjoys his training workouts, and performs beautifully for praise or treats. A 20 minute daily obedience sequence goes a long way in cementing a bond, and provides the mental challenge that will give Benny the structure he needs.

Benny is a purebred American Eskimo Dog, with the breed standard, thick double coat. He needs regular brushing, and probably a couple of professional groomings each year to look his best. Omega Fatty Acids added to a high quality grainfree diet keeps Benny's coat soft and manageable. Benny has visited our groomer a couple of times and has behaved himself pretty well. He is a medium sized Eskie, and at 25 lbs, could be considered either a large Mini or small Standard.

Benny has good house manners and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during Benny's transition to a new home. He is in excellent health, and is at an ideal lean body weight of 25 pounds. He is neutered, and has gad his 3 year vaccinations for Rabies, DA2PP (distemper, adrenovirus, parvo and parainfluenza). He has had the 4dx test: negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been dewormed, has been on monthly Heartworm and Flea/Tick prevention.
