ADOPTED

BILLIE JEAN

Our bombshell, Billie Jean, is a force of nature. She has a resilient love of life that is positively contagious. Billie Jean spreads good cheer everywhere she goes, and boy, can she make an entrance!

Billie Jean came to us from an overcrowded city shelter, where she was one more unwanted stray dog, on the short list to euthanasia. When Animal Control Officers brought Billie Jean into the Shelter, vet techs scanned her and found a microchip that traced right back their facility. Billie Jean had been their guest two years earlier; she was adopted, and. apparently, her new owners never bothered to provide their contact information to the microchip company. Shelter staff were unable to reach Billie Jean's owners at the old address and phone number in their files, so she was outta luck.

We are delighted to have Billie Jean with us and have taken great pleasure in her progress. She came to us a bit of a wild child, and has now morphed into a well trained canine companion. Billie Jean knows all of her obedience commands, and is on the route to Canine Good Citizenship. Adopters should be able to go the distance with her, and have her certified in no time. She responds to all types of positive reinforcement training, and works readily for praise or treats.

Billie Jean has an unusual look. She appears to be a mix of American Foxhound and Dalmatian. She is a large, tall dog and is at an ideal weight of 65 pounds. Her coat is tri-colored, white and tan, with large black patches and spots; it is also short, flat and easy to maintain. She is a muscular, energetic dog who requires exercise, at least two to three vigorous leash walks each day. Billie Jean is a natural athlete who loves the outdoors. She loves to run and is quite fast. We think there may be a little Greyhound in her mix somewhere!

Billie Jean loves people and would be a good family dog for folks with older children. She's a bit too much of a roughhouser for toddlers, but she could easily join an active family with other dogs and cats. She could also join an active single or couple on their outdoor adventures. She loves attention and surely would enjoy a home where she is the lucky star.

Billie Jean has good house manners and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during her transition to a new home. She is spayed, and has been vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP (distemper, adrenovirus, parvo and parainfluenza), and canine flu. She has been boostered as needed. She has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been dewormed, and microchipped.
