ADOPTED

BOGART

It's hard to imagine our darling, five pound Bogart traipsing around the big city on a survival mission! He came to us as a urine stained, skinny refugee of the elements, who seemed relieved and grateful for his regular meals.

Bogart was found by kind passersby, who brought him to an overcrowded animal control facility, where he quickly became a staff favorite. The shelter vet pronounced him in good health, considering his ordeal, although a bit underweight and plagued by a few infected teeth. He was estimated to be about seven years old.

After all attempts were made to find Bogart's owners, Animal Control released him to us, so that we could find him a forever home. Bogart has settled into foster care nicely and has been neutered and has had a full dental, after which he was down several teeth! Bogart has come a long way, but adopters will have to look past his appearance, and continue to focus on diet and nutrition to rehabilitate his white coat, which has been badly stained through chronic neglect. This little boy needs someone to provide the TLC that he has not had in his former life.

Bogart is a tiny Chihuahua, and has the telltale Apple shaped head, pointy ears and long tail. He has a spectacular, friendly demeanor, with none of the nervous energy that sometimes characterizes this breed. Bogart received excellent shelter behavior evaluations, and we agree. He could easily join an adult home, a single or couple, who enjoy pint sized dogs, and are willing to make his nutritional needs a priority. Bogart loves other dogs and cats, and is very friendly, but we don't think that his delicate stature would stand up to kid play.

Bogart would be a great companion for a retired person, or another older dog. His energy is surprisingly mellow, and he bonds quickly with his loved one. He is the perfect apartment size companion, and he is not much of a nuisance barker. Bogart is well behaved and small enough to travel anywhere.

Bogart has good house manners and is house trained, paper trained, and crate trained. Adopters are expected to troubleshoot the occasional accident that may occur during his adjustment to a new routine. He is in excellent health and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). He has had the 4snap test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed. If you are interested in Bogart, please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com or call Denise at 720-903-0636 for more info.
