BONDI

What a beauty! We are so in love with our statuesque Bluetick Coonhound, Bondi, we are ready to burst. This shy girl came to us from a fellow trainer who works with one of our foster moms. Bondi was part of a sibling pair in which big Sis was the alpha bitch who made Bondi's life miserable.

And, then, there was the toddler....who reportedly attempted to remove the sacred bone from Bondi's mouth. In an unheard of show of restraint, Bondi snarled. And so, Bondi's Dad panicked for the safety of the toddler and dumped Bondi off with her trainer. I guess this makes more sense than educating yourself about dog behavior and troubleshooting the problem. Is it too much to ask folks to keep their toddlers on a leash? Just kidding....sometimes we forget that kids are considered higher on the food chain than dogs.

The irony in this situation is that Bondi had been working with a professional trainer and is an exquisite example of what this art can accomplish. The folks who adopt Bondi will have the lion's share of the training work done. All they need to do is assert proper leadership. We are seeking "thoroughbred" dog owners for Bondi....folks who really love dogs to the extent that they meet their exercise and mental stimulation needs. Bondi is not meant to be a couch potato with babies and toddlers crawling over her. She is a grand soul who needs to commune with nature. The ideal adopters will be somewhat active folks who enjoy walking or hiking, and spending quality time with their dog outside. Bondi loves retrieving games and is spot on every time.

Bondi will adapt to a wide variety of environments, and would do well with another mellow dog or cat. She has blossomed beautifully in her foster home of stable, well behaved dogs and her foster mom has been reinforcing all of her training commands.

Although somewhat shy at first, Bondi warms quickly to strangers and other dogs. She is extremely joyous and loving to her person and will make the ideal companion dog for the right folks.

Two years old, Bondi is in excellent health. She is spayed, up to date on routine shots and has tested negative for heartworm/lyme/earlichia/anaplasmosis. If you are interested in Bondi, please call Denise at 720-903-0636 or write to Denise@EskiesOnline.com for an adoption application.
