CAINE

Caine joined our rescue recently. This stunning American Eskimo Dog came to us from loving owners, who were going through a divorce; neither owner was able to take Caine. He became agitated and frustrated through the lifestyle changes and found himself facing too much alone time. His owners felt a more stable home would suit him better.

And so, at the age of four, Caine finds himself in rescue. It is rare to find a dog so well cared for and loved in rescue. Caine's owners had aquired him from an unsavory living situation, and did a beautiful job in establishing good manners and behavior. Caine's former "Mom" was a vet tech, who tended to his health needs meticulously. I think he has the fattest vet file we have ever seen...especially in a healthy dog!

Caine has a surperb temperament and is extremely friendly. He is outgoing, confident and seems to have excellent doggie social skills. We'd say that Caine has a neutral temperment and could easly join a multi-dog home with either alpha or submissive dogs. Caine has been around cats; he would likely chase them in good spirited play...and lounge with them afterward. Caine has blended in beautifully to his foster home, and he strikes just the right cord of harmony within the diverse dog pack of all ages.

Caine is an energetic dog, as are most Eskies, and he needs a good deal of exercise each day to keep him balanced. He walks well on lead, and would be best served by two to three brisk leash walks daily. Once Caine is properly exercised, his training is a breeze. He is extremely treat motivated and has been very receptive to Leadership and Positive Rewards training techniques.

Caine would be a great choice for the seasoned Eskie enthusiast, who understands and appreciates breed quirks. He could easily join an active family with older kids, who are all on the same page about the exercise and training that Caine requires. He could also join the active adult home, provided that the schedule permits enough time for Caine.

Caine has great house manners and is house trained. He is in excellent health and is a robust standard sized Eskie, at an optimal weight of 34 pounds. Caine is neutered, and has been vaccinated for Rabies, parvo, distemper, and is negative for Heartworm, Lyme, Earalichia and Anaplasmosis.
