CHIQUIS

Our beautiful Chiquis is a 5 year old Siberian Husky/Lab mix, who was born into a half-baked home breeding operation, where she may have had a litter or two, until the owner became overwhelmed with personal problems...as well as his resident dog population. This queenly beauty found herself facing the uncertainty of life in an overcrowded urban animal control facility, navigating the unwieldy rescue process.

Chiquis has warmed up to us very quickly once she arrived in foster care. She can seem shy at first, but patient adopters will find her affectionate and loving after the first few minutes. She has an amiable demeanor and seems to be adaptable to different types of circumstances. She would be an excellent choice for an active single or couple who enjoy the outdoors. Chiquis would love to accompany her people on daily leash walks, hikes, or jogging. She is up for anything; the more action the better.

Chiquis has lived happily in a home with older children, and we think that she could do well in a family with kids, ages 10 and over, if the entire family is on the same page about meeting her exercise and training needs. Chiquis will need a minimum of two to three brisk leash walks daily, in addition to frequent potty breaks. She also requires ongoing obedience and leadership work to maintain the calm, balanced state that we have achieved during her foster care.

Chiquis has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. She is in good health and has recently been spayed She has been vaccinated for Rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitus, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza, coronavirus), and Canine Flu. She has been boostered as needed. She has had the 4dx test: negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been dewormed, microchipped and is on preventatives for Heartworm and Flea/Tick.
