DAISYOur Daisy is one of the sweetest rescue dogs, that we have met in some time. Her low key, mellow personality has completely won our hearts. Daisy just arrived from a rural kill shelter, where her number was almost up. She nearly became a statistic, just another unwanted dog, whose bright light would be extinguished before she got a shot at a new life. |
Daisy is a really, really cool looking dog. She is obviously a black Labrador Retriever as her primary breed: the first thing you notice about Daisy is her beautiful blue black coat, and sparkling brown eyes. She has white tuxedo markings on her chest, and delicate white "socks" on her feet. She is a medium sized dog weighing 45 pounds. If you look at Daisy straight on, she appears to be a black Lab, but her profile reveals a comic twist: Basset Hound! Oh, there's no mistaking that elongated spine and those short legs! Daisy is a double dose of active outdoor dog breeds: she loves to run and play fetch games, but a walk in the woods will excite her scent instincts. |
Daisy would make a fantastic family dog, and will love the attentions of older children. At first she presents with timid shyness, so toddlers may not be the best choice for her. Once she warms up, she is loving, sweet and an all-around affectionate family dog with a lot of love to give. Daisy could also join an active single or couple looking for a devoted companion. She would be a great walking buddy, and can keep any pace with her handler. Just one year old, Daisy is still considered an older puppy, but she does not have the frantic puppy vibe. She is calm and gentle when she approaches people, and waits patiently for affection. Daisy is very easy to focus on her obedience work, and she seems to love the interaction. She's extremely eager to please, and will work gratefully for praise or treats. She responds well to all kinds of leadership and positive reinforcement training techniques, and has come a long way toward reaching her potential as a Canine Good Citizen. Motivated adopters will be able to bring her the rest away and have her certified easily. |
Daisy has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect the occasional accident as she transitions to a new home. Daisy is in excellent health and is spayed. She is vaccinated for rabies, parvo, adrenovirus, distemper, coronavirus, leptopirosis, canine influenza, and bordatella. She has been dewormed, and has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
