GINGERSNAP

Lovely Gingersnap is the latest Beagle beauty to join our rescue. This glamour girl is a Rita Hayworth style, natural poser, and is hands down the most photogenic dog we have. While her photos exude a certain breezy confidence, Gingersnap is actually quite shy and reserved.

Gingersnap is an extremely sensitive girl, who did not fare well during her shelter stay. A young 5 or 6 years old, Gingersnap was a homeless stray, walking the bleak urban landscape on a quest for survival. Once she hit the shelter system, she was terrified, although her behavior rating was very good. She came to us in a shut down mode, and it took her a few days to warm to our touch. Now she has blossomed into a total love bug.

Gingersnap will thrill Beagle and a Hound lovers, with her long, graceful ears and classic tri-saddleback coloring. She is best suited to a quiet adult home, with a fairly active single or couple, who have the patience and dog experience to allow Gingersnap to come into her own naturally. She could easily join a multidog home, with one or two mild mannered canine souls, and perhaps a cat or two. We think that extremely young, rambunctious children would throw Gingersnap for a loop, but she could warm to the affections of older kids, who are gentle and respectful toward animals.

Gingersnap has not had much formal obedience training, but is a good candidate for positive rewards and leadership work. She would benefit from a daily training regimen that would give her a mental workout and boost her confidence. Like her Beagle brethren, Gingersnap can be distracted by the sights and sounds of nature, so adopters may wish to use the Halti-lead as a tool to redirect her attention.

Gingersnap has good house manners and is house trained and crate trained. She is in excellent health and has been spayed. She has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). She has had the 4snap test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been microchipped and dewormed. If you are interested in Gingersnap, please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com or call Denise at 720-903-0636 for more info.
