GIZMOLittle Gizmo is an old soul in a youngster's body. At four years of age, he lost his home when his owner developed personal problems that interfered with Gizmo's care. He was one of the saddest rescues we have seen. He did not fare well in the shelter and was extremely glad to see us, although quite suspicious at first. It took Gizmo a few days to warm to his foster parents, but now he has come out of his shell and is an absolute love. This adorable Pappillon/Long Hair Chihuahua mix needs a patient, loving person to allow him time to adjust to the changes facing him. |

Gizmo would do best in a quiet, home, free from the hubbub of complex family life. He would be the ideal companion to a moderately active single or couple who have some rescue dog experience, and who enjoy participating in the rescue process. He would not do well in a busy family, but would prefer the quiet and calm of a more sedentary life. Gizmo is a moderate energy dog, and we think that he has been too much of a couch potato! He enjoys his leash walks -- one or two brisk walks a day would be ideal.. And, then, Gizmo would be content to snooze in his person's lap during TV or computer time. Gizmo is extremely affectionate and longs to bond with that special someone. |
| Gizmo would be happy as an only dog, or could easily bond with another laid back dog or cat. He is somewhat suspicious of strangers, but will warm up if left alone to investigate at his own pace. The patient adopter will find Gizmo to be a devoted and loving pup. We think that small children might overwhelm him. Gizmo has excellent house manners and is housetrained and crate trained. He can be a bit fussy in the crate if left alone too long. Savvy adopters will forgive the occasional accident that will occur during the transition to a new home, and will be sure that Gizmo receives a consistent routine to reinforce good potty habits. He is an excellent car passenger and will curl up in his adopters lap during long road trips. He is not reactive to the usual stranger triggers, and at 13 pounds, he is small enough to travel anywhere. |

Gizmo is a bit chubby at that weight, and should probably slim down to 10 pounds as an ideal weight. He has adjusted beautifully to his healthy new diet, high in quality protein and omega fats, and has already begun to shed some weight. Adopters should commit to the healthy diet and exercise regime that we have started, to maintain Gizmo's good health. |
| Gizmo has been thorooughly vet checked and he is in great shape. He is neutered, up to date on rabies, parvo/distemper and bordatella shots and is microchipped and de-wormed. He has tested negative for heartworm/lyme/earlichia/anaplasmosis and is on appropriate prevention. If you are interested in Gizmo, please write to Denise@EskiesOnline.com for an adoption application or call Denise at 720-903-0636 for more information. | ![]() |
