ADOPTED

JACKSON

Our handsome boy, Jackson, has just joined our rescue, after his underwhelming owner abandoned him in a high kill Animal Control facility. There he caught a nasty cold that greenlighted him to the euthanasia list. At the age of only seven, Jackson's ticket was punched!

Our first thought, when we saw Jackson's shelter mugshot, was that this boy was too pretty for his own good. Like most pretty boys, we thought he just had to have some kind of attitude problem! We were pleasantly surprised to see that Jackson is as beautiful inside as he is outside. This gentle soul almost defies the logic of a scrappy, albeit magnificent, breed whose finely tuned hunting instincts mean big trouble for the Vermin population.

Jackson is a good sized Miniature Pinscher, with a statuesque, leggy stance. Weighing 13 pounds, he is a small dog, but gives the impression of a much larger one. Still, he can fulfill his Min Pin responsibility as lap dog and bed snuggler.

Jackson has a relatively calm demeanor for this high energy breed, and would be a good choice for a first time Min Pin, or dog, owner. As a laid back, moderate energy dog, Jackson requires a couple of brisk leash walks daily, but settles down quickly to watch TV or nap by the fire. Jackson would be an ideal companion to a single or couple, and could adapt to apartment living, without rousting the neighbors with nusiance barking. He is sociable to other dogs, and could join a multi-dog or senior dog home, where the energy is low key. Jackson would compliment most dog or cat chemistries.

Jackson has great house manners and is house trained, and crate trained. Adopters should expect the occasional accident to occur as Jackson adjusts to his new routine. He is definitely going to need a thick, heavy-duty coat, if he is expected to traverse the elements this winter.

Jackson appears to be well cared for: his skin and coat are soft and lustrous, and his teeth and gums are in good shape for an adult dog. A consistent dental care plan will go a long way to avoid future dental cleanings and extractions.

Jackson is in excellent health and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been dewormed, and had a negative fecal test.
