JANET

Lovely Janet is a real beauty. This stunning yellow Labrador Retriever could have a small dose of White German Shepherd in her, which may explain the slight variances to the lab breed standard in her look. Janet's coat is an Ivory white, with faint biscuit tinges. Her ears are half-mast, as though constantly struggling to stay erect. She is a petite girl, weighing only 43 pounds.

Just two years old, Janet was found as a city stray; her daily constitutional was interrupted by the dog catcher, who transported our beautiful girl to the local pound. Once there, she impressed staff and volunteers with good behavior and received good evaluations. We spotted Janet during one of our shelter visits and were immediately smitten with her charms.

As we watched Janet decompress in foster care, we noticed that she has sensitivity to some other high energy dogs, most likely fueled by her precarious days as a stray. We'd like to place her in an adult home, with a rescue savvy single or couple, who have the time and patience to continue her socializing in the dog world.

Janet needs a strong alpha pack leader to assure that she is safe and that she can relax into the unique pleasures that a dog's life offers. She is an excellent candidate for leadership and obedience work and is exceptionally easy to handle. She is extremely affectionate, and loves everyone she meets. In an only dog home, Janet would be a superstar!

Janet is a high energy youngster who needs sufficient exercise to maintain balance. She would be the ideal running or hiking partner, but at least needs a couple if brisk leash walks each day. We recommend using the Halti-lead tool to redirect Janet's attention to her handler's commands. In addition to a solid obedience regimen, Janet would enjoy focused fetch games that would indulge her retriever instincts.

Janet has excellent house manners and is house trained and crate trained. She is in excellent health and has been spayed. She has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). She has had the 4snap test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been microchipped and dewormed. If you are interested in Janet, please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com or call Denise at 720-903-0636 for more info.
