ADOPTED

MARINA

Our lovely Marina is a delicate, shy soul, who has had a tough time navigating the rescue waters. She was surrendered by lacklustre owners, to a notorious animal control facility, where her nerves became quickly unglued. To make matters worse, she quickly caught the shelter cough that extinguished her already scant adoption prospects.

Apparently, Marina had been adopted from the same shelter three years earlier, when she was a youthful ingenue, only to find herself full circle in 2015. And so, now she is five; we snapped her up, hoping to turn her horrible deja vu into a shot at happily ever after.

Marina is a small 9 pound girl, with delicate features, but has the unmistakable infusion of Pug in her face and snout. "Chugs" seem to be one of the most coveted of the Designer breeds, because the desirable Chihuahua size, coupled with the Pug charisma, can produce a pint sized Charmer.

Marina puts on a shy face with strangers, and needs time and patience to warm up. Once she trusts, her defenses drop, and she becomes the ultimate lap dog, leaning into her beloved person with adoring gratitude. Marina would be a fantastic companion to a moderately active single or couple who will let her adjust slowly. She is a perky, peppy Diva, once she comes out of her shell, and she needs a couple of swift leash walks each day, but otherwise is content to relax with her family.

Marina is best suited to an adult home, because youngsters are not likely to respect her boundaries. She would do well in a multi-pet family, with other dogs and cats who are reasonably calm and well behaved. Marina has great house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. She travels well, and loves her car rides. Also, Marina is small enough to occupy an airline approved Sherpa bag for underseat air travel. She loves to be included in lifestyle activities!

Marina is in excellent health and has been recently spayed. She has been vaccinated for rabies and DA2PP (distemper, adrenovirus, parvo and parainfluenza). She has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been microchipped and dewormed.
