MONTY

Darling Monty is a natural born charmer. He will grant his adopters lifelong belly laughs with his playful hijinks. Monty will always be the life of the party. Honty has just joined our rescue from a bealeaguered animal shelter that was decimated in the Hurricane Sandy disaster. Despite the traumatic circumstances, Monty came through it as though it were just one more rollercoaster ride. Clearly this dog has high expectations of life, and finds joy in even the most dire straits.

We believe Monty to be a mix of West Highland White and Cairn Terriers based on his general physical appearance and personality. Monty is a sturdy, small dog, and weighs an ideal 18 pounds. His coat has a wiry texture, and he is splashed with white and caramel markings.

Monty has all the high energy that a spirited little Terrier should possess, and he absolutely loves to play with other dogs. He would be a great addition to a multi-dog home, if the dogs are active and playful. His persistent play vibe will likely overwhelm a senior dog. Although Monty has not demonstrated predatory behavior, he would likely chase cats in play.

One year old, Monty has lotsa puppiness left in him. He needs a good deal of exercise and focused playtime to get his yaya's out so that he will settle down for a PM nap. A couple of brisk leash walks each day should do it, but adopters should also implement a structured leadership and positive rewards training program to develop Monty's great potential.

Our little spitfire, Monty, is in excellent health and has been neutered. He is vaccinated for rabies, parvo/distemper and bordatella. He has been microchipped and de-wormed, and has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia, and anaplasmosis.
