| When Bev Kimball phoned me, she expressed a quality that I always like in an adopter. Her last eskie seemed to be behave far worse than any one that I could now provide....and yet, when Bev and Steve showed up to meet Nelson, they came armed with framed photos of their beloved eskie, who had traveled over the Rainbow Bridge. And, so, Bev was searching for an eskie to snuggle in her arms like a baby. |  |

Well, there is no Eskie I know that requires more personal focus than Baby Face Nelson....so the match was made. It was a win-win situation for the Kimballs, until Nelson went out to the van to meet his new housemate, Charles Manson, an extremely large, yet docile Shepherd mix. Having not learned his lesson from a proper Angels From God Trouncing, Nelson attempted to give Manson a piece of his mind. |

Despite a less than stellar first impression, Nelson was scuttled into the van for a hasty retreat to the north. Bev reported that he stopped his carsick drool shortly after leaving Boston city limits, proving ....indeed....that he is a country dog. The first few weeks were touch and go between Nelson and Manson, but the two have made their peace, and have been seen sharing the sofa. Bev phoned tonight to report that Nelson had given her a scare today, when he gleefully leaped into the "hopper." I was not familiar with "hoppers" and could only imagine what kind of trouble Nelson had gotten himself into. Well, in fact, the "hopper" is a large trash bin, twenty feet deep used for recycled trash. Nelson was unable to jump himself out of the "hopper," and so an emergency rescue ensued, involving a ladder. |

Nelson is home safe and sound, and Bev and Steve are contemplating the adoption of our girl, Snowflake (affectionately referred to as Grumpalump). The saga will continue. |
