PHOEBEOur pup Phoebe is a total sweetheart. She is part of an accidental litter of puppies surrendered by owners who “forgot” to have their adult dogs spayed/neutered. |
Phoebe and her siblings were just eight weeks old when they joined our Rescue in Canterbury, Connecticut, last month. She seemed shy at first but has come out of her shell nicely and is showing us a stable temperament and delightful personality. |

We were curious about her breed mix and had DNA tested. She is a double dose of Coonhound: Bluetick and Treeing Walker, as well as Husky, German Shepherd, and Australian Cattle Dog. Her size is projected in the 50-80 pound range. |
Nineteen weeks old, Phoebe is ready for her new home. She is a sweet, demure girl with a slightly shy temperament. She loves all people, and has sailed through the rescue process with a healthy curiosity about new people and situations. Phoebe plays gently with other dogs and would thrive in a multi-dog home with other gentle, playful dogs. | ![]() |
As a working breed mix, Phoebe needs a good deal of exercise and mental stimulation to maintain good behavior. She does not have over the top puppy energy, but she does need a couple brisk leash walks each day to get her yayas out. |
Phoebe would be an excellent choice for an experienced puppy-savvy adopter, willing to commit to ongoing training and socialization. She would do well with an active couple or family with older kids, who can play gently with a young dog. We think Phoebe could be fine with cats. |

So far we have seen a sweet personality and balanced temperament in Phoebe, and we seek an adopter willing to raise her as a Canine Good Citizen. She is in excellent health and has fully vaccinated.
