ROMEOOur Romeo is a very gallant and well behaved senior Gent. He was found fending for himself in a harsh urban environment, where he had been trying to survive in harsh weather. He was found by Good Samaritans, who, with a bit of ingenuity, were able to coax our beleaguered Romeo into the car for a trip to the pound. |
| Overcrowded, stressful shelter conditions frightened Romeo, and he didn't seem to enjoy his stay too much. He was suspicious and weary, and received cautionary behavior evaluations from the vet staff during their "poke and prod" exam. Shelter staff and volunteers readily succumbed to his considerable charms, and he quickly became an Internet darling, drawing a lot of fan mail from the Facebook crowd. This dog has star appeal. |  |

Romeo appears to be a Red Miniature Pinscher, although, his leggy stance and curved spine suggest some Italian Greyhound input. Approximately 10 years old, Romeo has some gray on his handsome face, giving him that distinguished "George Hamilton" appeal. He is an active, peppy little guy, who, despite his age, needs a good amount of exercise to take the edge off. Once tired out, Romeo will relax into a warm comforter and take a well deserved nap. |
| Miniature Pinschers are hearty little dogs, who enjoy good health and great mobility well into their senior years. Romeo is in excellent health, and at an ideal weight of 15 pounds. he has been recently neutered after full blood work, and all his levels were within normal limits. While anesthetized, he had a complete dental procedure done, during which he lost some key teeth. Romeo is doing well on grain free dry kibble mixed with wet to soften his diet for easier consumption. |  |

Romeo would fare best in a quiet adult home, with a moderately active single or couple, who love clever canine companionship. He loves other dogs, and would be a great companion for another senior dog, or cat. We'd like to steer clear of small children, whose unpredictable attentions might overwhelm his delicate sensibilities! |
| Romeo has excellent house manners and is house trained and crate trained. He is in excellent health and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies,
DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). He has had the 4snap test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and
