RUBYMiss Ruby is a Diva Extrodinaire. She is brash and loud and in your face and not for everybody...but clearly a Bonanza for Somebody! The lucky adopter who chooses Ruby will have a loyal, devoted girl, grateful for all the love and attention that is lavished on her. She is full of personality and spirit that the seasoned rescue dog lover will go wild for! |
Ruby respects authority and will easily fall into line with a calm, assertive approach. She loves to take her cues from a dog savvy pack leader and will easily work for praise or treats. Obviously, Ruby has been neglected; her adopters will need to start with beginning obedience. We recommend formal obedience and leadership training to point Ruby down the road to Canine Good Citizenship. Ruby would do well in a quiet home, with a single or couple who enjoy working with a rescue dog, and who enjoy including their dog in their active lifestyle. Ruby's training should be top priority, and she would excel in an active home where she could be included in runnning, vigorous walking, hiking or camping. She loves the outdoors and travels well in the car. We'd like to see Ruby be a priority in her adopter's life -- they will need to make up for some pretty longstanding neglect...so, we'd like to avoid homes with other dogs, kids and cats. Ruby needs a love that's all her own. |

Adopters will need to focus on Ruby's diet and nutritional needs as well. Her coat shows signs of persistent neglect. It is dull and porous so that it holds stain and feels rough to the touch. She is now on a high protein formulated, kibble based diet rich in nutrients and omega fats to restore her coat. If adopters continue her on this easy-to-implement diet, Ruby's coat will regain its luster and she will be the raving beauty that she was born to be in no time at all. Ruby is in excellent health, but is a bit underweight at 46 pounds. She should probably round out to 50 pounds or so to be at ideal weight. She has been fully vet examined and deemed in good health. Ruby is spayed, and has been vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, and bordatella. She is microchipped and de-wormed, and has tested negative for heartworm/lyme/earlichia/anaplasmosis.
