SIMBAGorgeous Simba will thrill avid Pomeranian lovers. He is a spectacular example of this beautiful breed, without some of the hyper, yappy qualities that some Poms display when their owners lose sight of the necessary obedience and leadership work that their smart, tiny terrors need. Despite the disconcerting rescue process, Simba has maintained his cool, and has come through it all with his mighty spirit in tact. |

Simba was surrendered by his owner, who had become overwhelmed with life's travails and no longer had time to care for him. So, he found himself a guest at the city pound, where he spent a good deal of time adjusting to the hard facts of rescue life. We were thrilled to spring Simba, and offer him a stepping stone to a better life. He has adjusted beautifully to foster care, and has charmed his foster mom silly. Simba enjoys the companionship of all people and other dogs, and has even been quite the gentleman to the three resident house cats. He has a confident, outgoing personality that will fit nicely into a multi-dog home with older kids. He would do well with adopters who live a moderately active life, because he really enjoys the outdoors and loves to run and hike. His foster mom is an active person who is one of our most seasoned dog behavior experts, so Simba is getting a solid grounding in leadership and basic obedience work. |
We'd like to see Simba join the home of dog savvy adopters who appreciate the value of obedience training, and who are willing to continue his development in formal obedience classes. He has developed wonderful house manners, and is housetrained and crate trained, but we would love to see his new family continue to develop his potential. | ![]() |

Simba is a great traveler and is small enough to go anywhere. He is a fantastic car passenger and enjoys his big car rides with great enthusiasm. He walks well on the leash, and has a good understanding of basic obedience commands. |
Simba is in excellent health. Weighing 12 pounds, he is at a healthy weight, and he has been professionally groomed and started on a high quality nutritional program to restore his dry, brittle coat. He is neutered, vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, and bordetlla. He is microchipped and de-wormed, and has tested negative for heartworm/lyme/earlichia/anaplasmosis. |
