SNOW WHITE

Our Snow White has gotten off to a very rough start in his young life. It's tough going when a sensitive older puppy finds himself ramblin' solo in a harsh urban environment. But the experience is much worse during the winter months, especially for tiny, short haired dogs. Snow White was in pretty alarming shape when Animal Control Officers brought him to the shelter. He was emaciated, hypothermic, and needed emergency vet care.

Once Snow White pulled through, he repaid the miracle by pitching a fit about his accomodations. Not all dogs are grateful for shelter hospitality! He complained to the vet staff, and then to the shelter staff, until he finally he wrangled an invitation to join our rescue. We love a challenge!

Actually, Snow White didn't present a challenge at all. In fact, he was quite amenable to our hospitality, and has spent the summer eating bon bons and sunbathing. Now 1.5 years old, he has mellowed alot, and has developed that quirky joie de vivre that Chihuahua lovers adore.

Snow White is a tiny, 7 pound boy. His puppy snow white coat has morphed into a rich cream tone, with biscuit coloring, and he has chocolate brown patches on his skin. He has been tranformed from a sickly weakling into a healthy, robust boy, brimming with panache. While Snow White has delicate features...and a name associated with a princess... he has more chutzpah than the average Chi. He is no trembling wallflower, to be sure.

Snow White would be a great companion for an active single or couple; he may not be the best choice for small children. He would flourish in an adult home, with folks who are experienced Chi lovers. He has a nice energetic vibe, and enjoys a couple of brisk leash walks each day. And yet, he also loves to snuggle in this person's lap and take in a relaxed evening of TV.

Snow White has good house manners and is housetrained and crate trained. Adopters should expect that a little guy who's been through so much, might have an accident or two as he transitions to a new routine. Most rescue dogs lose a bit of their housetraining mojo when they move from place to place.

Snow White is in excellent health and has been recently neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies and DA2PP (distemper, adrenovirus, parvo and parainfluenza). He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed.
