SUNNYOur Sunny is one of those rare rescue dogs who has unlimited options because he loves every person and creature that he meets. This delightful seven year old Chihuahua / Rat Terrier mix has been a joy to foster since the moment he came to us from an overcrowded animal control facility. Word is that his owner's family dumped him after the gentleman required lengthy hospitalization. |

At first, Sunny was shut down and shy, but he has blossomed beautifully amidst the hustle and bustle of his busy foster home. He is easily approachable and easy to handle. Sunny would make an excellent addition to a multi-dog or cat home and would be a great choice for families because he is kid friendly and will readily seek out the affection of all family members rather than play favorites. |
Sunny's look is unique...if there is ever a need for him to play a lamb in the kids' Christmas Pageant, he is already in costume. Weighing 21 pounds, Sunny is a leggy boy, with a rough, coarse, terrier-type coat. He has beautiful caramel markings on a mostly white physique, and his face is as sweet and cherubic as can be. | ![]() |

Sunny is a calm dog...great for apartment living, because he is not noise reactive. He is good on the leash and travels well in the car. He would make an excellent companion dog for any adopter who enjoys a dog with a more "laid back" personality...a dog who relishes human company, but then knows when to take a good nap. |
Sunny is in excellent health, but needs some attention paid to his diet and nutrition, to ensure longevity. He came to us a bit overweight, and obviously, his diet has not been the best. After a few weeks of better food, he has lost a bit of the bloat, and his coat has become soft and supple. Continued high quality food, rich in nutrients and Omega fats, is recommended. Sunny is neutered, and has been vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, bordatella, and has been dewormed and microchipped. Also, he has tested negative for heartworm/lyme/earlichia/anaplasmosis, and is on appropriate prevention.
