ADOPTED

ZOLA

We have been delaying the inevitable. It's time for our beloved foster dog, Zola, to go to a home of her own. She has completely charmed us with her blustering bravado and outlandish hijinks. Zola is one in a million. For the right adopter, she is a once in a lifetime love.

Zola is a delightful mix of Rat Terrier and Tricolor Chihuahua. At ten pounds, she is the size of Rat Terrier and has the characteristic Tri-colors of black, white and brown. Zola has the unmistakable apple shaped noggin, that we see in our Chihuahua pals, with ears perked, as though she's processing some juicy tidbit of gossip.

Zola has been a real trooper as she has navigated her way in our busy, sometimes chaotic, foster home. She came to us from a town pound, where her owners had abandoned this four year old. She was in shock during her first week there, and it was apparent that she was dreadfully under socialized.

Zola arrived as a shy, skittish girl, not crazy about the companionship of other dogs, and now has become the shining jewel of our pack, albeit a little more opinionated than appropriate at times. Zola has become a pint sized, Marie Antoinette, with a comical sense of self-importance in the face of an angry rebellion. Our larger, fiercer, resident dogs seem to take Zola's opinions under advisement, and then dismiss her, with bored indifference. Apparently, Zola is prone to repeating herself.

And while we love this little Angel with all our hearts, we realize that our stressful foster home is not the best option for her long term. Zola will thrive in a quiet, stable environment with an active single or couple, who love to laugh. She is quite the comedienne, as well as quite the snuggly lap dog. She loves to be part of the action, and travels beautifully.

Zola would love to be the only dog in an environment where she can soak up all of the attention, however she has learned to coexist nicely with other dogs, and takes her coveted place at the foot of the the king size bed with her Mommy's posse of 6. We see her living happlily amongst a canine two pack, or three pack of small dogs. Zola would probably welcome a cat pack too, after living with the likes of Blizzard, the Husky, and Hugo, the Rottweiler.

Zola has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect the occasional accident as she transitions to a new home. Zois in excellent health, and is spayed. She is vaccinated for rabies, parvo, adrenovirus, distemper, coronavirus, leptopirosis, canine influenza, and bordatella. She has been dewormed, and has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
